One of our values centers entirely around the data integrity of the Benchmark. The information on the Benchmark must be accurate, as all members need to be secure in the knowledge that they are working from factual baselines.

To achieve this, we have stringent tests in place both before new members’ data is included, and once their data is live.

Data audit

 

Including a complete 96-point check, the data audit looks at how your current GA4 and Tag Manager are configured and checks older Universal Analytics data for a thorough view of how your setup is working.

Not only do you then receive the full report, but we take you through the findings in an MOT style, with advisories for best practice and any issues that would stop your data from going live – and we answer any questions you have about how to fix things.

Cookies

 

Every charity manages cookies differently. This impacts the data that is collected by Google Analytics, so we include a full check of your current cookie policy and estimate the impact on your data loss. Each site is then given a ‘cookie multiplier’ which ensures that you can see what is believed to be the closest estimate of your actual statistics based on our extensive knowledge of each aspect’s impact on a user’s decision to opt in or out of allowing cookies. 

Quarterly checks

 

Alongside this automatic issue detection, once members are added to the benchmark we dive into everyone’s accounts every quarter for a more in depth check – making sure the information still looks as we’d expect it to. This ensures you can use the benchmark knowing that everything is checked thoroughly and regularly. 

Anonymity

 

To create a dashboard that includes real live data, it is vital to make sure that everyone’s information is anonymous. You’ll never be able to compare directly with only one other charity. Whilst you can filter to compare to groups of charities by income or subsector, you’ll only be able to if there are five charities minimum in that group.
